宜春是一座美丽的城市，取名宜春就是适宜春游的意思，不过前几年一段广告语让人记忆犹新，因为这句广告名词还登上热搜，或许不是很好听，但民间文化听起来就是中听。民间的俗与书面的雅，表面上看不矛盾，自古就是雅俗共赏，何必为这事上纲下线，最终还是这句广告词没能留下来，却把宜春这座城市给带火了，以至于让大半国人都知道这座城市，最终赢家还是宜春，起码把自己给推销出去了。
宜春近代的名声大却不及上世纪60年代的三线建设，尽管都是小三线，但是对当时国防建设的重要性和敌对斗争的威慑力起到巨大的作用。让台湾省的领导和美国支持者未能大肆妄为。然而世间万物皆有生命周期，因三线建设和应运而生的兵工厂，随着国家环境的缓和都纷纷退出历史的舞台，当年繁忙的景象亦因时代的变迁而逐步退出人们的视野。
铜鼓县三都镇的大围山上，有一家三线建设时期建设的兵工厂，对外厂名为国营长林机械厂，军工代号177，始建于1966年，隶属于福建军区。福建军区当年主要是针对台湾省的国民党残余顽固分子，福建军区所属的兵工厂生产的军品主要是为解放台湾而准备的，同时为防止美军插手台湾打长久战做准备。
“深挖洞、广积粮、不称王”，“备荒备战为人”，“好人好马上三线”，那段激情燃烧的岁月，激励着几百万热血青年的参与。不怕苦、不怕累，怕的是自己跟不上大伙的脚步而成为落后分子。远离繁华的都市，来到群山环抱的僻壤之地深扎根，没有物质奖励，唯有的就是一颗火热的心和为国防建设而奋斗到底的决心。
长林机械厂主要生产高射炮和步兵战车，军工背景的原因，安保级别相当的高，保密级别更不用说，长林机械厂直到近些年的解封才知道是具体生产什么的。安保主要有现役军人负责，门亭站岗，明哨暗哨流动哨，士兵巡逻都缺一不可。江西是福建军区的大后方，福建又是解放台湾省的前沿阵地，战略地位极其的重要。安保工作必须要面面俱到，哪怕是陌生人在附近溜达都要仔细盘查，若是有个贼头贼脑的人在附近溜达，当敌特处理都有可能。
四面环山，远离城区，但这里却不缺乏热闹。山洞是生产车间，职工又在两公里开外的生活区，每天上下班的人熙熙攘攘。步行的，骑自行车的，来往于生产区和生活区之间，就像是都市闹区一般的繁荣。里表面上看着繁荣，但是比起都市的繁荣，这里显得有些特殊。因为是军工，职工们极少跟外界联系，哪怕是书信往来也只能用特殊的信箱。
长林机械厂表面是一家工厂，但是在当时绝对是行业中的佼佼者，更是军工中技术含量高的科技单位。177厂的高射炮技术来源于南京晨光机械厂，关注三线文化的人都知道，军工代号尾数是7的，几乎都跟晨光机械厂有关。职工不仅有援建而来的南京人，还有上海、天津、沈阳、吉林等各地的技术精英，长林机械厂的职工来源几乎能用五湖四海来形容。
以当时一厂一社会的标配，除了生产区的山洞，生活区还有职工宿舍楼、职工食堂、电影院、大礼堂、商店、学校和招待所。偏远的山区迎来一栋栋楼房和一群来自五湖四海的人，凝聚在此地工作生活。这里又是与世隔绝的地方。附近的村民很好奇里面的世界，但稳固的高墙阻断了里面的人和外面的人联系，让人们感到里面的世界很神秘。当年还有一个不成文的规定，厂里的年轻小伙子不能跟当地姑娘成亲，出此下策是为了防止国家机密泄露。
80年代之后国际环境缓和，当时的国家发展方针从军事斗争转向经济建设，此时的国情对解放台湾已经不那么重要，只要台湾省不独立就没必要动刀动枪，军品生产的人物即开始减少。1985年国家对三线产业做出调整，将部分军工厂转产，长林机械厂响应国家号召而进入转产，长林机械厂生产的万能微调宽刃精创刀还领得省科技成果一等奖。地理位置偏远，交通不便，信息闭塞等原因，长林机械厂为更好地发展，适应新的市场环境，1994年整体搬迁至新余，遗留下来的资产交由地方管理。
长林机械厂搬迁后，老厂址成为一家化工企业的场地，厂房得以再次利用，然而职工宿舍楼等很多建筑物大部分都处在闲置状态，有部分建筑无人打理都已经坍塌，或许这就是让人最为遗憾的事情。后山有200多座坟堆，没有墓碑只有土堆，坟墓里就知道埋的是三线人，但具体名字不详，这就是第一代三线人为国防事业奋斗一生，不争名利，默默坚守在这里，奉献与无私，是一代三线人最高尚的品质，向一代三线人致敬。
